pub fn output_bits(id: i64) -> i64Expand description
The raw bits a completed task’s output was copied out as, without taking it and without touching any GC root.
For Rust harnesses that read scalar outputs (Int, Float, Bool)
of a spawned task. After completion a spawned task’s GC root is released,
so if these bits name a heap object, that object may already have been
freed; this function cannot tell and does not try. Nova code reads a
task’s output through its future instead (JoinHandle::join), which
keeps any heap value reachable by ordinary tracing. Not registered in
crate::symbols, so compiled Nova code cannot reach it.
§Panics
If id is unknown, or if task id has not completed.
