What:
The identity of the executable at real_git,
or None when its answer cannot be cached safely.
Why:
Only a compiled ELF file named git is identified:
its version is a property of its bytes.
A path or a field that would need escaping in the one-line text is refused too.
In TS you’d write (pseudocode):
