Removes what a diff left behind when the daemon crashed or stopped under it: its base folder
templates/.diff-<tag> (stopping the server in it first), sockets/d<tag> and
logs/diff-<tag>.log. Only at daemon start, before the socket binds: no diff runs then, and
nothing records the running ones. Logs, never fails; returns what it removed.
