Covers src/**/*.rs, src/**/*.wgsl and Cargo.toml; 16 lowercase hex chars,
stable across OS, toolchain, line endings and .git state for byte-identical
source. Reveals a physics-affecting edit that didn’t bump VERSION (which
BUILD_ID is keyed on, and BUILD_ID disagreeing is always a hard handshake
refusal). indicatrix_net::handshake sends this value in the HELLO/WELCOME, but
verify_compatible compares only the protocol version and BUILD_ID: a
SOURCE_HASH mismatch does not refuse the connection, so the value is
diagnostic only. See that module’s own doc comment.
