The desktop environment manager: which desktop, session and display manager this is, its appearance settings (read with the desktop’s own tools), saved looks to put back, and who else sets those settings: Home Manager, its Plasma and dconf modules, Stylix. Reading changes nothing; applying a look is a plan of the desktop’s own commands, confirmed first.
