The system change preview: what a plan is expected to change on this machine, step by step: files (side by side where the new contents can be worked out without writing anything), packages, services and when it takes effect. Every change says how it is known: worked out here, declared by the entry, or impossible to tell before the step runs. It only reads files and asks package managers read-only questions.
