Builds the spec Table::query takes, from either shape the bindings accept: a bare predicate
node, or a whole-query envelope { predicate, search, orderBy, limit, offset, countOnly }
carrying the rest of what the TS QueryBuilder publishes. null and an empty document both
mean “every record”, which is how a QueryBuilder with no where reaches the engine.
