Start the installer’s listener and the loop. Returns at once.
In order: a fresh installation clears the pairing state it finds on the
data volume (installer_listener::reset_if_fresh_install); the installer’s
view of this box is opened (its own key, what was fed before); the
installer’s link and listener open — the install, or the log door alone
once the installer closed the install on this installation (for the life
of the VM either way); and the loop runs on its own thread until the box is paired
or refused for good, reporting every change.
