Expand description

Expand a discovery path template into a URL path, substituting {...} placeholders from the supplied parameters.

Returns an error naming the missing placeholder rather than sending a request with a literal {userId} in it — which Google answers with an opaque 404.

{+name} placeholders (RFC 6570 reserved expansion) keep their value’s slashes and other path characters, per the expansion’s meaning: a Chat space name like spaces/AAA must remain a two-segment path, not a percent-encoded blob.
