Which columns the border row structurally occupies, for a parametrization
whose continuation index is k in a system of n unknowns.
One entry for the two sparse parametrizations, all n+1 for
pseudo-arclength. See the module docs for why this distinction is worth
making rather than always emitting the dense row.
