Read in a single GraphML file from input and fill the updates given as
parameters.
In order to create a Graph from it, you first have to apply the
node_updates and then the edge_updates. Status updates can be retrieved
by the progress_updates closure, that will be called with a message as
argument and can be used e.g. for logging or displaying the status message
to the user.
