BatchMode=yes is load-bearing: without it, ssh bypasses the captured stdio pipes and prompts for passphrases or confirmations directly on /dev/tty, painting raw text over the TUI’s alternate screen. With it, ssh fails immediately and the error is captured and reported normally.
