Keep chats/<slug>/ in step with .fur/ for one conversation.
Dual-write: .fur/ remains authoritative and is written first by the
calling command; this regenerates the document from it. Regeneration rather
than append is deliberate — serialize is byte-stable, so rewriting the
whole spine is idempotent and the two stores cannot drift apart.
