I created a placeholder for this package name (functools) back in the day since I must have had some project for it in mind. Life being what it is, I just didn't get to creating whichever library I had in mind.
The result is that this package has ended up unintentionally squatting this name for several years, for which I do apologize 🙇
I tried self-reporting this package to crates.io, but since that does not seem to have done anything, here I am, pushing a new "version" of the crate, with just this updated README.md, wherein I state that:
I shall forfeit and relinquish ownership of this crates.io entry to whomever contacts me first about it.
