Expand description

Process-wide default kernel registry: every backend’s fused-op BackendImpls registered at startup. Built once on first access via std::sync::OnceLock; immutable thereafter (architecture v1.0: no runtime extensibility).

Today’s coverage:

  • FUSED_LINEAR × Cpu × {F32, F64, BF16, F16} — four bit-stable per-dtype impls registered via register_default_kernels.

Backend-side crates (fuel-cuda-backend, fuel-vulkan-backend) extend this set by either (a) registering during their own startup, or (b) the step-9 binding-table refactor where the route picker pulls from this registry. Today’s executors continue to lookup via the per-dtype KernelBindingTable; this registry is the architecture-target shape for CUTLASS / cuBLAS alternative registrations and step-9’s pre-resolved KernelRef pipeline.
