Crate ffcine_ingest

Crate ffcine_ingest

Source
Expand description

Card offload and the clip catalog, with no GPU or libav dependency so it runs on the Mac in the van: ingest() copies camera cards with BLAKE3 verification, a manifest and an optional backup; clock applies per-camera clock/zone fixes and flags disagreeing clocks; catalog indexes clips with format and picture profile (docs/ingest.md).

Modules§

camera
Which camera a card file came from, what kind of file it is, and what its clock said.
catalog
The clip catalog: DIR/catalog.json, one entry per media file with its format, picture profile (which camera LUT the grade takes) and corrected clock, plus per-camera summaries, frame-rate mix warnings, clock issues and cross-camera overlaps. Schema ffcine.catalog/1; changes stay additive (new optional fields), documented in docs/ingest.md.
clock
Per-camera clock and zone fixes, and the checks that catch cameras whose clocks disagree.
ingest
Card offload: copy every camera file into DEST/01_footage/<camera>/<day>/ (audio into 02_audio/), hashing the card’s bytes as they stream, re-reading the copy to verify it, and appending each verified file to DEST/.ffcine/ingest.jsonl. A second verified copy goes to --backup (same layout) from the destination, so the card is read once.
stats
Image-statistics check for the picture profile, through the ffmpeg CLI when it is on PATH (Homebrew’s works on macOS). Optional: the catalog falls back to metadata alone.
time
Wall-clock times, UTC offsets and clock corrections, without a timezone database.
