Crate ffcine_import 

Importers: foreign projects -> an ffcine Timeline (docs/import.md).

Each format is a module with pub fn import(input: &Path, opts: &ImportOptions) -> Result<Imported>. Anything a module doesn’t map goes to metadata.ffcine.foreign.<app> on the object it came from and is listed in ImportReport::unmapped. Readers are lenient by default: what they can’t read at all (an unknown element, effect or event) is skipped and listed in ImportReport::skipped; ImportOptions::strict turns any skip into an error.

Modules

capcut

CapCut / JianYing draft reader: draft_content.json, the newer draft_info.json, or the project directory holding one. There is no official spec; the structure follows pyJianYingDraft / pyCapCut. Encrypted drafts (JianYing > 5.9) are refused.

cdl

ASC CDL: .cdl (ColorDecisionList), .ccc (ColorCorrectionCollection) and .cc (ColorCorrection) files, and the ffcine.color.cdl/1 effect with its metadata.cdl mirror (the CMX adapter’s shape, {asc_sop: {slope, offset, power}, asc_sat}).

edit_yaml

The Python prototype’s edit.yaml (semantics: render.py there; field map: docs/timeline.md).

edl

CMX 3600 EDL importer, with ASC CDL (*ASC_SOP / *ASC_SAT comments and .ccc / .cdl sidecars), the colour path out of Resolve and most finishing tools.

export

Exporters: an ffcine Timeline -> files other apps open, so a cut can be finished there (docs/import.md, “Export”). Each is the inverse of the importer of the same name.

fcp7

Final Cut Pro 7 / Premiere Pro XML (<xmeml version="4|5">) reader, straight from the XML.

fcpxml

Final Cut Pro X .fcpxml / .fcpxmld reader (FCPXML 1.8–1.11), straight from the XML: the OTIO FCPXML adapter drops transitions and every filter (docs/import.md).

mlt

MLT XML reader: Kdenlive .kdenlive and Shotcut .mlt projects (and anything melt writes), straight from the XML. The OTIO Kdenlive adapter ignores timewarp, transforms, titles, LUTs and wipe types (docs/import.md).

resolve

DaVinci Resolve native OTIO importer (File > Export > Timeline, .otio; Resolve 18.5+, seen up to 21.x). docs/import.md has the field map; measured maths in vidcut docs/gotchas.md (“Resolve’s OTIO files”).
