Expand description
Backend-independent native charts using FerroUI properties, layout, drawing, text, observable collections, resources, and automation.
The compatibility contract and its source boundary are documented in
docs/porting/winui-charts.md in the repository.
Structs§
- Area
Series - A filled area between sample values and the zero baseline.
- Axis
- Shared identity and presentation properties of a chart axis.
- BarSeries
- Bars displayed horizontally by default. X is always category/time data and Y values.
- Cartesian
Axis - Presentation properties shared by category, numeric, and date axes.
- Cartesian
Series - Shared property and data contract for line, area, and bar series.
- Category
Axis - An axis whose categories retain source order or sort by their values.
- Chart
- Displays cartesian line, area and bar series with shared, observable data. Drawing goes through the framework’s retained drawing context on every backend.
- Chart
Automation Peer - Uses normal framework name, label and description resolution. Peer queries never force a chart layout or decode its data.
- Chart
Collection - An observable collection with transactional ownership checks. Its storage is shared by handles; snapshots remain valid during reentrant notifications.
- Chart
Layout - A read-only snapshot of calculated chart geometry, useful for diagnostics, custom interactions and deterministic layout tests.
- Chart
Point - A source point after axis mapping. Indices refer to the original series and sample, including when a category axis changes the display order.
- Data
Label Override - Immutable presentation for a label at one zero-based source sample index. A missing brush uses the series’ effective data-label brush.
- Data
Marker Override - Immutable presentation for a marker at one zero-based source sample index. A missing brush uses the series’ effective data-marker brush.
- Date
Time Axis - A date axis whose bounds compare UTC instants and whose ticks follow calendar boundaries. Dates before the Unix epoch remain valid.
- Line
Series - A polyline series with optional sample markers and labels.
- Linear
Axis - A finite numeric axis with independently automatic bounds and tick spacing.
- Numeric
Range - Resolved layout data of a numeric axis. This is a value snapshot, separate from the notifying axis object and safe to use during scene construction.
- Samples
- One dimension’s values. The same instance can be shared by multiple series.
- Xaml
Charts Resources - Theme dictionaries for the published Charts resource keys. Local and ancestor resources can replace each brush without writing local values onto axes.
Enums§
- BarOrientation
- The display direction of a bar series. Data roles remain X/category, Y/value.
- Category
Sort Key - Whether categories follow source order or their values.
- Chart
Error - A rejected chart mutation. Failure preserves the previous state and does not publish a collection or property notification.
- Date
Time Interval Type - Calendar interval used for date-axis ticks; this does not aggregate samples.
- Grid
Lines - Which grid lines an axis draws.
- Marker
Shape - The marker drawn at a sample. Discriminants match the WinUI public contract.
- Sample
Value - A decoded sample, with source positions preserved even for unsupported data.
- Sort
Order - Category ordering direction.
- Stroke
Dash Style - Stroke pattern, in multiples of effective stroke thickness.
Constants§
- CHARTS_
XML_ NAMESPACE - XML namespace for declarative Charts controls and data.
Functions§
- register_
types - Registers all Charts classes, enums and collection adapters. Idempotent; property initializers still run on the current UI thread when types are used.
