text as a Markdown code span no backtick run inside can close (docling-core’s _code_span, #859): one backtick more than the longest run in it, and a space on both sides when the text starts or ends with a backtick — the pad CommonMark strips again — so a`b is ``a`b`` and `x is `` `x ``.
