Two contour lists brought to the same number of contours and the same number of curves per
contour pair. Contours pair up in order; one without partner meets a point (see [place];
ba/bb are the boxes of the whole outlines). Whether b runs backwards is decided once for all
its contours: turning single ones around would change which areas a nonzero fill covers.
