Read paths as one table of events, with a file column when there is more than
one.
One file that cannot be read is an error. Of several — a directory of songs — a file that cannot be read is left out and named in the summary, unless none can be. Files are read one at a time and each one’s bytes let go once its rows are taken, so a directory never holds more than one file’s bytes.
