The matmul reading of a Tile: c.mma(a, b) treats the trailing two axes as the row × col matrix, leading axes as a batch, and contracts K.

softmax

The softmax reading of a Tile: OnlineSoftmax takes a score where its holder keeps it, the ownership read off the score.
