the kinds of errors possibly encountered in trying to decode an armv7 or below instruction.

Variants

ExhaustedInput

the input was insufficient to decode a full instruction. for non-thumb instructions, this means the input was not at least four bytes long. for thumb instructions, the input was either not two bytes, or not four bytes, depending on how much the instruction would need.

InvalidOpcode

the instruction encodes an opcode that is not valid.

InvalidOperand

the instruction encodes an operand that is not valid.

Incomplete

yaxpeax-arm doesn’t know how to decode this, but it may be a valid instruction. the instruction decoder is not complete, sorry. :(

in practice this typically indicates some kinds of coprocessor instruction, or ARMv7 SIMD instruction.

Nonconforming

the instruction includes reserved bits that were not set as required.

Undefined

the input encodes an instruction that is explicitly undefined.

Unpredictable

the input encodes an instruction with unpredictable behavior.
