Struct mzdata::io::mzml::MzMLReader [−][src]
pub struct MzMLReader<R: Read> { pub state: MzMLParserState, pub handle: BufReader<R>, pub error: MzMLParserError, pub index: OffsetIndex, // some fields omitted }
Expand description
An mzML parser that supports iteration and random access. The parser produces
RawSpectrum
instances, which may be converted up to Spectrum
or forward to CentroidSpectrum
as is appropriate to the data.
When the readable stream the parser is wrapped around supports io::Seek
,
additional random access operations are available.
Fields
state: MzMLParserState
handle: BufReader<R>
error: MzMLParserError
index: OffsetIndex
Implementations
pub fn new(file: R) -> MzMLReader<R>ⓘNotable traits for MzMLReader<R>
impl<R: Read> Iterator for MzMLReader<R> type Item = RawSpectrum;
Populate a new RawSpectrum
in-place on the next available spectrum data.
This allocates memory to build the spectrum’s attributes but then moves it
into spectrum
rather than copying it.
Read the next spectrum directly. Used to implement iteration.
pub fn new_indexed(file: R) -> MzMLReader<R>ⓘNotable traits for MzMLReader<R>
impl<R: Read> Iterator for MzMLReader<R> type Item = RawSpectrum;
pub fn new_indexed(file: R) -> MzMLReader<R>ⓘNotable traits for MzMLReader<R>
impl<R: Read> Iterator for MzMLReader<R> type Item = RawSpectrum;
Construct a new MzMLReader and build an offset index
using Self::build_index
Builds an offset index to each <spectrum>
XML element
by doing a fast pre-scan of the XML file.

The iterator can also be updated to move to a different location in the stream efficiently.
They can also be used to fetch specific spectra by ID, index, or start
time when the underlying file stream supports io::Seek
.
Retrieve a spectrum by it’s native ID
Retrieve a spectrum by it’s integer index
Retrieve a spectrum by its scan start time
