The Schedule A (Itemized Deductions) field map for one tax year.

Three x-clusters — Schedule A is the only form here that needs a third. Line 2 (the AGI the 7.5% medical floor is taken on) sits INLINE with the printed sentence at x ≈ [331,403], not in the MID column, and it is the same WIDTH as MID, so nothing but its x-position distinguishes it.

Unmapped on purpose: line 6 (other taxes), 8b/8c (mortgage not on a 1098; points), 9 (investment interest), 15 (casualty), 16 (other). Line 8d is a ReadOnly “Reserved for future use” widget — live, and it consumes a suffix number. Never write it.

Fields§

§form: String

"f1040sa".

§year: i32

Tax year.

§check_5a_sales_tax: CheckChoice

L5a’s §164(b)(5) sales-tax election checkbox — the election core already honours in the arithmetic, which the filed form never showed (ARCH-P6.3a Q7 item 3).

§check_8_mixed_use: CheckChoice

★ §2.7 — L8’s §163(h)(3)(F) mixed-use-mortgage checkbox: “If you didn’t use all of your home mortgage loan(s) to buy, build, or improve your home, check this box.” Nested under Line8_ReadOrder[0], like line 18’s own read-order box.

§check_18_elects_smaller: CheckChoice

L18’s §63(e) “itemize even though less than the standard deduction” checkbox (Q7 item 4).

§identity: IdentityCells

The name + SSN header cells (P6.2). REQUIRED: a full-return schedule that does not name its taxpayer is not a filable form, so a map lacking [identity] fails at deserialization.

§line1: MoneyCell

L1 — medical and dental expenses, MID column.

§line2: MoneyCell

L2 — AGI. ★ AGI-INLINE column, not MID.

§line3: MoneyCell

L3 — the §213(a) 7.5% floor, MID column.

§line4: MoneyCell

L4 — medical allowed, AMOUNT column.

§line5a: MoneyCell

L5a — state/local income or sales taxes, MID column.

§line5b: MoneyCell

L5b — real-estate taxes, MID column.

§line5c: MoneyCell

L5c — personal-property taxes, MID column.

§line5d: MoneyCell

L5d — add 5a-5c, MID column.

§line5e: MoneyCell

L5e — the §164(b) SALT cap, MID column.

§line7: MoneyCell

L7 — add 5e and 6, AMOUNT column.

§line8a: MoneyCell

L8a — mortgage interest on Form 1098, MID column.

§line8e: MoneyCell

L8e — add 8a-8c, MID column.

§line10: MoneyCell

L10 — add 8e and 9, AMOUNT column.

§line11: MoneyCell

L11 — gifts by cash or check, MID column.

§line12: MoneyCell

L12 — gifts other than cash (incl. crypto), MID column.

§line13: MoneyCell

L13 — prior-year carryover, MID column.

§line14: MoneyCell

L14 — add 11-13, AMOUNT column.

§line17: MoneyCell

L17 — total itemized deductions → 1040 L12, AMOUNT column.
