pub fn verify(evidence: &Evidence, key: &PublicKey) -> Result<(), VerifyError>Expand description
Check evidence against a public key.
Standalone by design: no runtime, no registry, no async, no I/O. Given a ledger file and a published key, this is the whole of what an external auditor needs.
§Errors
VerifyError::Invalid if the signature does not match — which is what a
tampered value produces, whichever field was altered.
VerifyError::MalformedKey if the key is not a valid ed25519 point, and
VerifyError::Encode if the pre-image could not be rebuilt.
