blue’s one equality — what ==, !=, contains, index_of, count_of and distinct all mean (okite D0001–D0003).

Ruby’s answer: numbers compare by value across Int and Float (4 == 4.0), strings, symbols and keywords by text (each only with its own kind), lists element by element, maps by their entries whatever order they were built in, nil only with nil (not with [], D0004), functions by identity. Until 2026-09-27 == was tatara’s Scheme equal?, under which 4 == 4.0 was false and two equal maps were unequal unless they were the same object. tatara keeps Scheme’s equal? for its own programs; blue redefines the name in its interpreter, and tatara’s own member?, position and distinct call equal? by name, so they follow.
