Analytic first partial derivatives (∂S/∂u, ∂S/∂v) at (u, v).

Rational B-spline derivatives are evaluated in homogeneous space and projected with the quotient rule. This remains stable when valid imported knot domains have large offsets that make finite-difference steps vanish.
