Toyota Production System (TPS) Simulation Test Cases.
This module implements the ten canonical TPS simulation test cases from the EDD specification. Each test case validates a governing equation from operations science against simulation data.
§Test Case Summary
| Case | Hypothesis Tested (H₀) | Verified Principle | Governing Equation |
|---|---|---|---|
| TC-1 | Push ≡ Pull Efficiency | CONWIP | Little’s Law |
| TC-2 | Large Batch Efficiency | One-Piece Flow | EPEI / Setup |
| TC-3 | Stochastic Independence | WIP Control | Little’s Law |
| TC-4 | Chase Strategy Stability | Heijunka | Bullwhip Effect |
| TC-5 | Linear Setup Gain | SMED | OEE Availability |
| TC-6 | Specialist Efficiency | Shojinka | Pooling Capacity |
| TC-7 | Layout Irrelevance | Cell Design | Balance Delay |
| TC-8 | Linear Wait Time | Mura Reduction | Kingman’s Formula |
| TC-9 | Linear Inventory Scale | Supermarkets | Square Root Law |
| TC-10 | Kanban ≡ DBR | TOC / DBR | Constraints Theory |
