The wall-clock CEILING for one check’s spawned command, in seconds.

amont.timeout, default 3600. This used to be 600 and to be the only clock, which made it answer two different questions with one number: “is this tool stuck?” and “is this suite slow?”. A stuck tool is silent, and idle_timeout catches it in minutes; what is left for the ceiling is the tool that keeps printing and never finishes, which is rare enough to afford an hour. 0 disables. Read once per process: twenty concurrent checks must not each spawn a git config to learn the same number.
