Expand description

Return a stale-index warning string if the index is older than threshold_secs (default: 3600 = 1 hour), or None if fresh.

Distinguishes three degraded states:

  • Empty — FTS table has never been populated.
  • Symbols fresh / FTS stale — the last asd index run recorded an FTS rebuild failure (e.g. “database is locked”). Symbol data in git is current but search ranking reflects an older snapshot.
  • Stale — the last successful FTS rebuild is older than threshold_secs.
