# Code of Conduct

## Our Commitment

MetaOxide is committed to providing a welcoming and inspiring community for all people. We expect all participants in the MetaOxide community—including contributors, maintainers, and users—to show respect and courtesy to each other.

We are dedicated to creating a community free of harassment and discrimination. We do not tolerate harassment or discrimination based on:

## Our Standards

- **Intimidation**: Threatening or hostile behavior
- **Personal attacks**: Name-calling, insults, or derogatory comments
- **Trolling**: Deliberately provocative messages intended to upset people
- **Spam**: Excessive self-promotion or off-topic content
- **Doxing**: Publishing private information without consent
- **Hate speech**: Content that demeans people based on protected characteristics
- **Unwelcome attention**: Unwanted romantic or sexual advances
- **Disruption**: Deliberate attempts to disrupt discussions or events

## Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to:

- All project repositories and discussions
- Project events and conferences
- Official project communications (issues, PRs, discussions)
- Unofficial spaces where project members gather (Slack, Discord, forums, etc.)
- Interactions between community members related to the project

The Code of Conduct applies equally to all community members, including:
- Project maintainers
- Core contributors
- First-time contributors
- Users
- Anyone interacting with the MetaOxide community

## Enforcement

### Reporting Violations

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to the maintainers:

- **Email**: [conduct@metaoxide.dev]mailto:conduct@metaoxide.dev (if applicable)
- **GitHub Issue**: Open a private security advisory (preferred for sensitive reports)
- **Direct Message**: Contact a maintainer directly

**Please include:**
- Your contact information (unless you prefer anonymity)
- A description of what happened
- When and where it occurred
- Names of people involved
- Any relevant evidence (messages, screenshots, etc.)
- How the behavior affected you

**All reports will be:**
- Treated confidentially
- Reviewed promptly and thoroughly
- Handled with sensitivity and care

### Investigation Process

1. We will acknowledge receipt of your report within 48 hours
2. We will investigate the complaint thoroughly
3. We will follow up with you about the outcome (unless you prefer not to be contacted)
4. We will take appropriate action based on our findings

### Possible Actions

For violations, we may:

- Issue a warning and ask for corrective behavior
- Request an apology or retraction
- Temporarily mute or remove from discussions
- Permanently ban from project spaces
- Other remedies as appropriate

**Severity considerations:**
- First offense: Warning and expectation of change
- Repeated violations: Escalating consequences
- Severe violations: Immediate removal

## Appeals

If you believe a decision was unfair, you can appeal to the project maintainers with:
- A written explanation of why you believe the decision was unfair
- Any additional context or evidence
- A request for review

Appeals will be reviewed within 14 days and a decision will be communicated.

## Modification

We may revise this Code of Conduct periodically. We will announce major changes and give the community time to provide feedback.
